The nature of greenfields projects is that once you have then on a CV, they remain an attractive feature on your CV for future like projects. What better way to hone your Production skills then, than on one of the premier projects on the WA market? Currently at the greenfields stage, there is a focus on a sustained ramp up towards production by mid-2012 on this billion dollar operation.
Reporting into a Senior and a Production Superintendent who have been part of the project from the outset. They know it inside and out, so you will get the opportunity to learn from the best. There is a focus on production support including; -
- Drill and blast pattern design.
- Development of short term plans and schedules.
- Influence on pit design using Vulcan.
- Reporting of production results at weekly planning meetings.
The WA market is currently creating a two tier situation for Mining Engineers on the production side: those who have a QM or the ability to get one and those that don’t. As a leading mining company with project variation, opportunities will present themselves allowing you to complete any gaps in your time.
Perth based before moving into a life-friendly 8/6 roster. When on site though you will enjoy the perks of a brand-new camp. Gym, wet-mess, pool and great quality food.
Requirements; -
- Mining Engineering Degree or the equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post grad experience.
- Prior experience in gold and Vulcan highly regarded.
- A QM or significant time towards it would put you ahead.
